Recently, some tea friends have been asking this question, so I will answer it together here. Generally speaking, the buds of ancient tree tea are indeed smaller and smaller than those of platform tea from the same origin. Of course, there are special cases. I have filmed in the program, you can go and see, this kind of situation is not within the scope of our discussion today.
The reasons why ancient tree tea buds are small and small are nothing more than the following points:
1. The nutrients for the growth of ancient tree tea are all supplied by natural nutrients. Things like rainwater, the land itself, rotting vegetation around it. There is also a small amount of animal excrement. Therefore, its nutrient supply is not as sufficient as artificial platform tea, just as there is a significant difference between wild tea and artificially planted tea.
2. Ancient tree teas are all made of old local varieties. It has not been intervened by modern technologies such as artificial hybridization and optimization. It only maintains its own characteristics, and it does not have many buds and fat like modern artificially cultivated new varieties. Compared with the two, the hybridized and optimized platform tea obviously looks much better.
3. The crowns of ancient tea trees are dozens or even hundreds of times larger than those of small tree teas and platform teas. And its root system is not enlarged proportionally. Therefore, its support for leaves and buds is obviously far less than that of small tree tea and platform tea.
4. Ancient tree tea is not pruned, but platform tea needs to be pruned every year at the end of autumn and early winter. Everyone knows that regular pruning of tea trees is very beneficial for the germination of tea trees in the second spring. For the same tree, the number and quality of buds that have been pruned are much better than those that have not been pruned.
